Gemstone Inclusions
Gemstone inclusions are the presence of any foreign particles in the mineral.Sometime inclusions of tiny crystals of other minerals get caught in the larger host mineral and grow together.

Although some regard gemstone inclusions as inferior;they can also have the opposite effect. For hundreds of
years gems have been prized for their inclusions.

Inclusions in gemstones can be very beautiful, they sometimes look like modern art work with all the different
colors of minerals that swirl through the rock crystal. Gemstone inclusions when seen through a microscope, can
identify the gemstone as well as tell if it is natural or synthetic. They can also determine the stone's place
of origin.Pyrope garnet in diamond will tell the origin inside the earth.

Gemstone inclusions can add beauty and value to a stone, for example the rutile called silk, in sapphire
sometime is arranged in such a way as to form 6 pointed star when cut in cabochon. Amber (fossilised resin from
trees which grew millions of years ago) has always been prized for the inclusions captured within. Small insects, insect wingss, bark, and sometime feathers are some of the inclusions which spark our interest and
curiosity.
Pyrites in lapis lazuli form the pretty gold flecks, and citrine and amethyst blend together and is called
ametrine. Most all minerals have inclusions, it is rare to find a perfectly clean stone free of impurities.
You can also find inclusions in topaz, tiny liquid filled cavaties or small crystals, and cleavage and fracture
can be seen without the aid of instruments.
Blue lace agate has striations of light and darker blue, moss agate has inclusions that resembles plants, and
landscape agate has the appearance off pictures of buildings. This makes the stone more desirable and interesting.
Diamond is carbon and sometime the carbon deposit appear as black smudges or fuzz, and sometime as black dots.
A diamond is not one of those stones that is enhanced by inclusions.
